What makes Vértice unique? Its yellow walls? Its 40-year tradition dedicated to excellence in education? Its exclusive approach to teaching literacy? Its ability to look into the future? Beyond that, Vértice is a welcoming school where people share the same purpose: to get students ready for the challenges of life by helping them fulfill their potential.

Conceived by educator Walkiria Gattermayr Ribeiro as Curumim, Vértice is based in the heart of Campo Belo neighborhood, in the city of São Paulo, at the same location until the present day. The School grew steadily and strongly, based on a pedagogical project that values academic excellence, respect, autonomy, empathy and responsibility. It has become one of Brazil’s most reputable basic education institutions.

Curumim preschool is founded. Its name was a reference to Brazilian roots, and the school designed its own literacy teaching method. The first Elementary School classes are taught, building on the learning and teaching principles proposed in Early Childhood Education. Curumim expands its pedagogical project by adding Middle School education. In Brazil, this segment was officially called Ginásio at the time. Vértice School is established to offer all levels of school education, and High school classes start. All school levels then become part of Grupo Vértice de Educação (Vértice Group of Education). Vértice stands out for its results in college entrance exams: 9 out of 13 Senior High School students were admitted to University of São Paulo - USP. Vértice and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs establish a partnership to teach German as extracurricular classes through PASCH initiative. Vértice ranks first in Enem - Brazilian High School National Exam. The School has ranked among top performers since then. Grupo Vértice de Educação opens Vértice Cultural Center, an initiative to foster cultural activities that is open to the general public. Vértice Beyond the Classroom starts, an after-class bilingual program offered to students aged 0 to 10 years. The new Elementary School building is opened - a modern architectural design that encourages creativity and makes the environment an integral part of the learning experience.
